FARM-post from the johnston jungle

Thank goodness for friends...

Last week we took a trip to Fir Point Farms and had a blast. Unfortunately, our camera is in the shop so we stole these from the Johnstons. (Thanks David and Chrystal!)

Mmmmmm....ice cream!
So our friends the Mollenhauers and us went to this farm by Canby (Fir Point Farm I think is what it was called??). They had a bunch of little baby goats, momma goats, chickens and rabbits there to feed. It looked as if they had a bunch of other fun activities to do too but they didn't have them open yet...not until October anyways....preparing for the Halloween festivities! But the kids had a blast anyways. And they also had a cute little market there with fresh produce and yes...ICE CREAM. So we finished our fun afternoon off with some yummy ice cream cones. You can tell Xander really enjoyed his :).

A little more endurance

Sorry to anyone who frequents our blog...we are going to be regulars once again...as soon as we get our Internet access. We do have access that is included in our rent, although it's never possible to log on, or you get kicked off after a few minutes, oh, and you can't download anything or you'll get kicked off as well. I'm a little miffed, and even more so because we finally gave in and called the local company to get our own hi speed connection and they can't come out until the end of the month. I do promise after that to 1. post regular blogs (maybe) and 2. to fix my dang background! Don't be discouraged, all is well here in OR!

Starting over again

We've made it...23 hours of driving (for Lance) and a short 3 hour plane ride (for Gracie and me) was all it took to start a new life. We are not in Arizona anymore! I've already noticed many benefits to living in the Northwest:

1. IT'S GREEN!
2. I can take a walk whenever I feel like it and not die of heat stroke (I think it was in the low 80's today)
3. We live alone (not that we didn't love taking care of HUGE houses! But this place it all ours!)
4. No one knows who we are. I love starting fresh and meeting new friends!
5. No sales tax! When they say $0.99 they mean it.
6. It's illegal to pump your own gas!
7. Walking around the fence in our back yard and picking wild blackberries!
8. WATER! We live in a gorge and we had to cross a river to get to WA...we also went to the Old Spaghetti Factory and had a great view of the river and people boating.

We've waited a long time for this day to finally be here. Hello to the future. I already know I'm going to love it here!
