What's in a name?

OK, we have a name picked out that we like (but it is definitely not for sure), but we are having trouble with this little girl's middle name. I (Lance) like shorter names and due to the expanse of my last name, feel that this needs to be a consideration for the child's own good health. Our style of name tends toward the retro-yuppie, but we are by no means exclusive to that genre (especially as a middle name) and we enjoy bi-gender names as well as place names and important people names. I like names without too much alliteration (i.e. Marmaduke Melvin Mollenhauer or Aaron Alexander = yuck) but am not opposed to it if it fits ( Kamryn Melissa Mollenhauer). Em is easier than I am and is more worried about this child learning to spell her name before she turns 12 (such is the Mollenhauer-as-a-last-name curse).

So let us know what you think are some good names, and who knows, maybe you will be the lucky suggester!?!
thanks.

I love different names, and I know that everyone has there own style, but a name I have been loving lately that I can't forget is Zabria. It kind of sounds like Sabrina, but with no N. Good luck! We can't figure out a first name for our kid!

Seriously, what is the first name? I was telling David how you were asking for help and he asked me what the 1st name was and then stated, well how can we help if we don't know what the first name is going to be! Any hints? If you are keeping that until curtain time, then give us something similar to it or rymes with it! Right now my suggestion is...Zona short for Az, of course or aza or ari! =) tehehe

I think Olivia would go well with your other girls' names.

I'm with your friend Melanie, I love the name Olivia. One of my friends named her daughter Livia. I love them both. I think it flows with your last name too. Good luck!

We like thing names like Rain, Star, Sky (ahem, don't choose this one), Daisy, Summer, Autumn, etc.(alternate spelling to make more interesting). I know, I know, try to avoid the ones that you'd find on American Gladiator. You could also try the Spanish versions because sometimes they are prettier. I hope you picked the first name I rooted for!!

If you like names of places, I've always thought Carolina and London are pretty.
