Under doctors orders I have recently made some significant life changes. I found out, among other things, that I am severely gluten intolerant. My diet needed to change IMMEDIATELY! AHHHH! Thank goodness there is so much out there, albeit quite expensive. I have lots of options, though not as many as I had before. I am thankful my kids are still young so that they will not notice the change in the dinners I make for them. Goodbye brownies, cookies, and my lovely sweet bread. I will miss you, although my hips might not. All I ask is for your forgiveness if I drop by treats and they taste a bit funny.
Here's to a new Gluten Free test kitchen!

Never worry! Somone always comes out with a way to have brownies! Our walmart here carries all sorts of gluten free mixes and I can usually find them at regular grocery stores, but they are more expensive. Also, Betty Crocker has a brownie mix, chocolate cake mix and one other mix...white cake, I think. We started to do the gluten free thing in September and my friend recommended this cookbook that she says is awesome. Let me know if you want to know the title.
eh, brownies are highly overrated
It won't be so bad. There's a lot of food out there now that is gluten free! Ryan's dad has this and they substitute everything with rice flour and it tastes the same!
Wow, I am glad you found out so you can make changes and feel better. I know Elizabeth Hasselbeck wrote a book about it. http://bit.ly/9BT1KG
Dang, what a hassle! At this you did find out now when there are more choices like you said, and not 10 years ago before the whole healthnut movement really took off in grocery stores. Good luck Em!
Hmmm. I've recently discovered I have a gluten sensitivity too.
What was it that made you go to the doctor? And how did they figure that out? Was it a blood test?
Also... this world of no-gluten is a little difficult. Any good recipes you've discovered?
bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!
