April 2012 Not So Patiently waiting and the Birth Story

April felt like we were passing time until the baby came.

walking curbs to induce labor.  One Saturday I walked for hours and the contractions kept on coming and coming and coming.  Finally, after about 5 hours I took the girls over to Bella's and drove myself  to the hospital, Lance was working less than 3 minutes away.  Too bad my contractions stopped THE MINUTE I parked the car.

I was having contractions every night for hours.  I got an app for my phone and tracked hour after hour, but they never got any stronger.  One Sunday night I checked myself into triage just to make sure everything was okay.  They tracked my contractions for a few hours, but of course I didn't progress, so they sent me home.  After we were discharged, we went back to our van ( at 12 am) to find we had a flat tire and we had to wait around for AAA to come rescue us because we didn't have the tool to lower the spare tire down.  I was a bit embarrassed that I ended up going to the hospital 3 times with false labor (and once for heart problems), and every time they confirmed I was having real contractions but I wasn't dilating so they would kick me out the door.  That had NEVER happened with my girls' labors!

Tball picture day
My sweet girls, days before their brother came.

Alexa gave me a break one day and gave the girls a make-over.

Oh boy!

Our last Sunday before the baby was born--2 days before he came.  I was HUGE!! (After Dr. McNeal broke my water she kept pushing and pushing the fluid out and it kept coming and coming and coming.  She was shocked at how much amniotic fluid I had produced.  I looked less then 6 months prego without all the fluid!)

I was scheduled as the first induction of the day at the Hospital--3AM!  Of course I hardly slept a wink.  We actually ended up waiting at check-in for a little while because someone else came in, actually in labor, so we let her cut in line ahead of us.
Luckily we had Kathy there to make sure every moment was captured.

I am pretty sure this wasn't a joke (at least at first).  It was very sudden I was yelling for the nurse, I knew the baby was ready and coming and I was afraid they weren't coming fast enough.

We had one small moment of panic.  The nurse was very concerned (to put it lightly), the baby was in distress and I was put on oxygen for a bit.  The baby's distress lasted about 2 minutes and then all of the sudden everything was okay.  It was so fast I didn't have time to worry much, but I was very grateful  it resolved itself quickly.

(Don't worry, I took out all of the pictures with me in stirrups.  You are welcome!)

Pushing
I think it took about 2 pushes and he was here!!

Every boy needs his doll...or so his sister's think.

Someone is very confused and thinks they are still the baby!
