Something to Talk About

Not too much to blog about...but I downloaded pics today and found some fun ones!

Notice all of the teeth!! We're almost done teething--HALLEUJAH!

Not the best pic--but I LOVE this dress!!

If you haven't been around Gracie during a meal, DON'T COME CLOSE! She is only second to her cousin, Tyrus in making messes. We have to sweep AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY!!!

THE BIG GIRL BED!! We found a cherry bed on craislist that just happened to match the crib we have EXACTLY!! SHE LOVES being a big girl! Although, she does get smacked in the head when she stands too close to the door and we rush in to check on her!

Daddy putting the big girl to sleep. Take note of 3 things: 1. Ted (can't sleep without him), 2. the cocoa spilled on her pillowcase (she is addicted to cocoa and can't sleep without it, just like Aunt Alexa), and 3. random pink gorrilla that came on Valentines Day from Bella and Grumpa. It's not that she has a pink gorilla that whistles on cue that's random, but that she now can't sleep without it!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday (and half b-day) to my two favorite people in the world! I LOVE YOU!

Gracie is now OFFICAL NURSERY AGE (18 months)! Although she has been attending for a while now...but now I'm guilt free about it. She RUNS after sacrament (and sometimes during) to the room. She could care less what I do-SHE LOVES IT IN THERE! She's such a big girl. She's much taller than when we got here and her hair is much thicker too! Her fav words lately are "Co-Cooooo" (of course her dad got her hooked!) and "Snuggles" which really comes out "guggles". She is starting to sit on the tiolet...hopefully the whole potty training thing will be mastered in the next few months (BEFORE the baby gets here). She is now in a tumbling class (more of an extreme intro to gymnastics) with her friend Kaylee. She has only been a couple of times but she really likes hanging on the mini bar, walking across the balance beam, jumping on the trampoline and now she attempts somersaults on her own. I think we're going to have a dancer! I am so proud of the growth I've seen in this little spirit. She is so kind, and thoughtful, and always is trying to share toys and food with friends (don't worry she's still got a sassy every so often but I'm really trying to focus on the positive here). Sometimes I just laugh when I'm watching her and I can't wait to hear the words that will come out of her mouth.

And now my tribute to my Lance:

This lucky boy got a mode of transportation for his birthday. But now that I think about it, it's kind of a present for me. You see, Lance got a job at school that requires him to leave for work by 6:30 AM!!!! So Gracie and I have been dragging ourselves out of bed to take him to work/school every morning this quarter. Quite frankly it SUCKS! and we realized that in the next 3 years he's going to need to travel a lot during the day and I won't be able to keep chauffering him around with the kids. Hence the Lance Venice!

Oh yes, this scooter brand is Lance, so it has his name written all over it. I haven't seen him this giddy since our wedding day!

Vroom, Vroom, baby--ENJOY!!

Happy Birthday to my best friend. Here are a couple of reasons I Love Lance...read on at your own risk. (and yes sweetheart I stole this from the anniversary present I gave you last year but really I thought of them all by myself anyways, why can't I use them now? Especially when this baby is sucking out all of my brain cells!

Weekend of DeWitt

So we just had the best weekend ever!! Just when we were starting to get a little homesick the DeWitts (and Sparks) come to the rescue! WE LOVED HAVING YOU IN TOWN!! (and we miss you already)

We went to this place called Safari Sam's* (aka Jungle Jim's in AZ) two great things happened:
1. KIDS UNDER 2 ARE FREE! So we paid nothing to get in!!
2. Lance and Brian played harder than ANY kid there! (quite amusing to watch, but of course not surprising at all)

*Safari Sam's is a family fun center with indoor golfing, arcade, and multiple level play center/obstacle course with tunnels, rope climbing, gauntlet, etc. Thanks to Val for taking us there.

You've gotta love this kid!

Lance finally took Gracie into the big kid black diamond course and she LOVED most every minute!

Lukas and Brian (these smiles didn't wear off for at least a few hours)

Gracie climbed the big kid rope climb with NO HELP! I just about died watching from underneath, just waiting for her to fall through, but she proved me wrong!

Luke being his cute self, man I don't think this kid could be any happier!

Seriously you would think this kid is mine, I love him so much!

BATH TIME BUDDIES!

Thanks again Brian, Celynda, and Lukas, and Sparks fam for a great time! We love you guys and miss you terribly!

Birthday Tributes

Catching up on January birthdays:

Happy Birthday to 5 people we LOVE!

Carter, Kathy, and Will at the PHX Zoo

To our cutey Carter who turned 4: we miss you immensely! No one can beat our Carts!

To Kathy: We love and appreciate you ALWAYS! Thanks for reminding us to be real and helping us keep our lives in focus. We think that you are very complimentary to our family. I don't think we can ever repay you for your kindness (and hospitality!).

To the best "Grumpa" in the world: Thanks for being so willing to let us come and mooch off of you. We wish that we were closer for the sole reason that you love to play with the Gracie so much, and you call and schedule play dates with her ( or rather used to and probably will in the future), which she absolutely loves!!!!Thanks for taking care of us! We love you!

To Aunt Vicki (affectionately known as A.V.): Thanks for being a second mom to me! She's one to always open her home, and offer dinner too! Love you LOTS!

And to Britt: (WHO'S TURNING 18!!! WHAT THE CRAP??!!)

We love you and are proud of the woman you are becoming! We can't wait until you're done with school so you can be our live-in nanny!! ha ha ha Thanks for all of the self portraits that make us laugh, you always remind us to have fun.

Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

21 Weeks!

To all the fam who wishes to see my growing belly... enjoy!
(don't worry, I'm hoping by 40 weeks I'll cover the entire refrigerator! )
My sweet Gracie was giving the baby hugs and kisses. I'm trying new functions on my camera so we didn't really get any good shots, but dang, isn't she cute!
Addendeum to Post: I forgot I haven't blogged about my new do! Thanks to "Hair by Nat" for the sassy cut! I decided I couldn't handle the AZ static/dryness while I was there and chopped it all off. I think all of my old blonde is finally gone. Look out world here comes a sassy brunette! ha ha ha

Idol Is On!

I just wanted to let you all know of my television debut next TUESDAY on American Idol!...Tune in and make sure you keep the Tivo remote handy to find my face flying past the camera! ha ha ha If you missed the details it's here. I can't tell you how long it took me to watch the first 3 minutes of the first show. I kept rewinding and playing back slowly to see if the camera caught me. I know I was there for over 2 hours just to shoot the opener, "Season seven starts in San Diego," well, they didn't start season seven in San Diego so that one is out. I feel like I may know how actors may feel when their fav scene was cut out. I spent a lot of time and sweat, and fake screaming to shoot that! I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. Oh, by the way when they try to show the "entire" group in the front of the stadium saying some catchy phrase, I'm standing just to the right of the kids in the center (who happened to be standing on a picnic table holding signs), just want to make sure you don't miss me. Enjoy!

P.S. Janey this is for you, "I AM THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL" (and I mean it!)

**New note to posting: What the crap? The website says airs TONIGHT (Thursday)...just keep watching for the San Diego auditions, whenever they may be.

We went to the Dr. and It's a ...

GIRL!

We couldn't be more excited!! I can't wait to have another girl! I really thought it was a boy but I am so relieved it's a girl! (of course I probably would have been just as elated for a boy too!) WA-HOOO!!!!

Can the sick be over?

Jeez, I HATE being sick. I got sick the worst when I was teaching, but after I gave that a rest I have been pretty healthy. I think the change in climate between AZ and OR really did me in (and Gracie too). I just want to sleep through a whole night before the baby gets here!

Tomorrow is our big day. Let's hope the baby lets us see what sex it is! I get so excited to nail down the name.

Naptime here I come...

Back to School, Back to School

So we are home in the Portland and life has already started rolling again. I had school today, and while it was less terrifying than the beginning of my first quarter,I must admit that I still had some butterflies before my first classes today.
I know that it is over, but I wanted to reminisce on our break and post some of the pictures that we took while we were on our first break from the rigors of chiropractic college. These are some of my favorite pictures that we have uploaded so far. If there are any questions on the pics, please ask. I gotta run to bed cause its my night to handle the Gracie if she wakes up, which she is doing more frequently the last few days because of that darn cough.
-Lance
